With their leader giving support from the sidelines, the Lady Bulldogs put their best foot forward in pulling out a 4-3 win over a tough Grambling State team.

"This was the kind of effort we have been asking from our freshmen," commented Coach Thomas Colvin. "They are going to have to play like this every match from here on out to give us a chance."

Freshmen Tachon McClaine and Lauren Cintron came through to help pick up the win. McClaine won in straight sets while Cintron needed 3 to get her win.

This win moves the Lady Bulldogs to 2-2 for the weekend.

"No team is going to have a cake walk this year," Colvin said. "There are at least 6 teams this year who have lineups that could come together at the right time and get it done. We've got some things to do to make sure that we are one of those 6."
