Men Fall at Alabama State

Junior Greg Rodgers got a game ball for his effort against ASU.

Feb. 9, 2008

The Alabama A&M men's tennis team opened their season on a tough note, falling to rival Alabama State, 7-0.

"We've been battling a few last minute things," coach Thomas Colvin commented. "It's not an excuse. These guys have continued to play hard regardless."

Bulldog Gregory Rodgers provided the highlight of the day for the Alabama A&M men. Rodgers, a junior from Chicago, IL., started the day playing inspired tennis in doubles with Stevon Walker. Down a set in singles, he stepped up his play at #2 and push his match to a third set.

The Bulldogs will next face Cumberland University of Tennessee.
