Both Alabama A&M basketball teams are the No. 3 seeds heading into this week's Southwestern Athletic Conference Basketball Tournament. The women will open play Thursday at noon vs. No. 6 Mississippi Valley State, followed immediately by the men's team vs. No. 6 Arkansas-Pine Bluff at 2:30 p.m. Opening round play begins Wednesday at Birmingham's Fair Park Arena.
